Let’s take a closer look at the HYMPAVZI pen
- Cap: Once the cap is twisted off, the needle cover will stay inside the cap.
- Hidden needle: With its design and autoinjector delivery, you can inject HYMPAVZI into the front of your thigh or abdomen. HYMPAVZI may also be injected into your buttocks by a healthcare provider or caregiver only. HYMPAVZI should not be injected into a vein.
- Window: The HYMPAVZI pen comes prefilled and ready to use. This window also lets you see when you’ve received the full dose during the injection process.
- Fixed dose†: One week after your loading dose, you take the same dose every week.
The HYMPAVZI pen is stored in the refrigerator (36°F to 46°F) until expiration. It can also be removed from the refrigerator and stored at room temperature (up to 86°F) in the original carton for up to 1 week. Once reaching room temperature, HYMPAVZI must not be returned to refrigerated storage and should be used or discarded. Keep the HYMPAVZI pen out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze or shake.
- In the phase 3 BASIS Study, the primary objective was to measure the annualized bleed rate (ABR) of treated bleeds vs on-demand factor-based treatment and vs factor-based prophylaxis after 12 months on HYMPAVZI. 92% reduction in treated bleeds on HYMPAVZI compared with on-demand factor-based treatment (3.20 ABR vs 39.86 ABR). 36% reduction in treated bleeds on HYMPAVZI compared with routine factor-based prophylaxis treatment (5.09 ABR vs 7.90 ABR). Individual results may vary.
- Your first dose (loading dose) of HYMPAVZI is 300 mg (two 150 mg injections). Then you will inject a weekly (maintenance) dose consisting of 1 or 2 injections as prescribed by your healthcare provider. If more than 1 injection is required to deliver a complete dose, administer each injection at a different injection site.
